Financial aid

Advocating for robust federal funding to support low- and middle-income students in all institutions of higher education is one of the Office’s top priorities.   These efforts include support for increased levels of funding for Pell Grants, Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants and Work Study programs.  On the graduate level, we advocate for increased funding for the many of the agency fellowship programs, including the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships.

Higher Education Policy

Changes to the Higher Education Act and related regulations or guidances can have a significant impact on University activities ranging from campus security to accreditation to new reporting requirements. The Office evaluates proposed changes in conjunction with campus partners and provides input to Congress and the executive branch.
